Tuesday 13th December was a great day for the Rotary Club of Bracknell when representatives of the five recipient charities came to receive cheques each to the value of £2,500 resulting from the Three Counties Sponsored Cycle Ride which took place on Sunday 5th June 2016.
The members recollected the day the event took place which went very well with over 600 cyclists taking part over three routes: 50, 33 and 15 miles.
The guests included Michelle Bowdidge from the Stroke Association, Rachel Docherty from Macmillan Cancer Support, Lewis Honeywill from the British Heart Foundation and Sarah Sharky from Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Paul Wentzell also received a cheque on behalf of the Rotary Club of Bracknell’s Trust Fund which is used throughout the year to aid local good causes.
The Three Counties Cycle Ride is an annual event organised by the Rotary Club of Bracknell and the 2017 event is already being organised and will take place on Sunday 4th June. You are invited to view the website at 3ccr and see the photo gallery and other details.
The Rotary Club of Bracknell meets every Tuesday at the Old Manor Hotel in Bracknell and anyone interested in finding out more about Rotary is welcome to attend. Please contact Dave Donaldson on 07748701346 for further information.
Our club is one of the smallest in the district but we are very proud to organise one of the most important and successful fund raising events of the year.
