On Tuesday 12th December, the Rotary Club of Bracknell held a Presentation of Cheques event at the Old Manor hotel in the town. The club had organised the annual Three Counties Cycle Ride last June and invited representatives from the four main charities to come and receive cheques of £2000 each. The charities were Thames Valley Air Ambulance, The British Heart Foundation, The Stroke Association and Macmillan Cancer Care. Several other groups benefited from the money raised including: Scouts, Guides, Ascot Alzheimer’s Association, Wildridings School Association, the Rotary Clubs of Easthampstead, Ascot, Reading Matins, Marlow Thames and Crowthorne Sandhurst and the Wokingham Inner Wheel Club. Members were very pleased to welcome the guests who included Rotary District Governor, David Pope, Mrs Sue Nike who was made an Honorary Member of the Club and Jane Stokes who was inducted as a new member. Our Secretary, Amanda Rampton, had made a beautiful cake depicting the Three Counties Cycle Ride which everyone enjoyed as dessert.
